Hello there,

My blog-reading babes. Hope your week is going well. I decided to erase my Monday completely and instead start my week on a Tuesday, as I wasn’t feeling too well and also, because I can (I rarely have a life on weekends, never have meals at their designated times, and finish work by the time you are counting sheep, so no judging please). Also, I had tacos on a Monday, so that alone kind of flipped my week around. Anyways, this week I would like to share my not-so-new casual chic obsession: Tear-Aways.

If you would have asked me in the 90s if the tear-away pants would ever make a comeback, let alone in the fashion world, I would have probably laughed uncomfortably, mostly because I would have been between the age of 1 and 9 and spoke only Russian and Lithuanian. I am not going to lie, I still see them as very sporty and most google images will have at least one male stripper as the ‘ambassador’ of the tear-aways, but I think it really comes down to two things: confidence and styling. Arina’s big advice regarding confidence? Fake it till you make it. Anytime. Anywhere. So you can go ahead and check that off.

Up next, is the fun trial and error part. With the tear-aways being the most casual piece of the outfit, to create the ‘chic’ part will require a bit of creativity. Personally, as much as I would love to rock a Gucci t-shirt and a baby blue coat, while strutting in egg-shell white ankle boots (literally how I envisioned my ideal outfit being captured as I walk the Parisian streets during fashion week), my realism and practicality say “How about no.” So, instead I rumble through my minimalist closet, picking out four of my staple items. Key word is ‘staple,’ as I think the red stripe with slightly gold buttons is eye-catching enough, so the grey, white, and black colour scheme is the perfect choice. Similarly, the crossbody bag takes on the purpose of the belt, as to break the clean and potentially bland look of black and white, while its structure is bold and simple at the same time. Lastly, I encourage you to try and style the tear-aways with body suits, thick fishnet stockings, bold coats, and some white trainers, as to play around with what you like and are comfortable with. You do you, boo boo.

I hope you beauties enjoyed this week’s style focus. Hope to see you here soon, as I will be sharing the only form of exercise that I can tolerate and why, next week. Wishing you a kick-ass week ahead, and an even better weekend.

Cheers,

A
